Q: Where do I board the MTA bus at the Airport?
A: The MTA bus stop is on Level 1 at the Airport within the Ground Transportation
area. Simply make a right as you go out the facility's door and continue straight
ahead until you see the Metropolitan Transit Authority sign and our blue and white
bus stop sign. For your convenience, we also will post the new 18 Airport/Elm
Hill Pike schedule at this location. If you have questions, airport personnel can
direct you to the stop. There is an Airport Information Center and Customer Help Desk in the Baggage Claim
area. MTA bus schedules and system maps will be available for your convenience.
Q: Where do I catch the MTA bus to the Airport?
A: Music City Central, MTA's downtown transit station, located at 400 Charlotte Avenue,
between 4th and 5th Avenues North. Buses on this route depart from bus bay 18 on the lower level.
Q: How do I know which bus to catch at the downtown transit station for the trip to
the Airport?
A: The front and side destination signs will clearly read 18 Airport, 18 Elm Hill or 18 Airport Express.
The 18 Airport Express trips take about 20 minutes to reach the airport and the
18 Elm Hill (local trips) take 34 to 45 minutes depending upon traffic. All 18 Airport/Elm Hill bus trips depart from bus bay
18 at Music City Central.
Q: How much is the fare?
A: $1.60 each way for adults, $ 1.05 for youth ages 19 and
younger, $.80 for seniors (age 65 and older) and people with disabilities. Proof
of age may be requested. Our fare boxes accept cash as well as debit or credit
Visa or MasterCards.
Q: What if I have questions, where shall I call for more information?
A: Contact Customer Care Center at (615) 862-5950, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday Friday, 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. In addition, for your
convenience we provide bus schedule information through our Trip Tuner IVR phone system 24/7.
Q: Where can I pick up or view the 18 Airport/Elm Hill bus schedule?
A: For your convenience, all bus schedules are available online at www.nashvillemta.org, at
the Nashville Airport Information Center located on level 2 in the Baggage Claim area,
the Ticketing and Information Center at Music City Central, Nashville Downtown Library,
City Hall and at other transit displays around town.
Q: Can your buses accommodate people using wheelchairs?
A: Yes, our entire fleet of buses is equipped to accommodate people with disabilities who use
wheelchairs.
Q: Does your service operate on all holidays?
A: On the following major holidays, MTA operates service on a Sunday/Holiday schedule:
- New Year's Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, MTA operates on Saturday schedule.

Q: Will the buses be able to store my luggage during the trip to downtown?
A: Yes, self-service luggage racks have been installed on most of the MTA buses that service the Airport.
Q: How can I get to other areas of town if my hotel is not downtown?
A: For your convenience, the 18 Airport/Elm Hill Express will arrive at the downtown transit station
early enough for you to connect with a number of other MTA buses. There is also a Customer Care information booth and other
transit personnel who will be able to answer questions. To connect to another bus, we do require another $1.60 fee.
If you are planning to ride the MTA for several days while in town, you may want to purchase a 7-Day fare card or an All Day pass.
