When it snows in Nashville, some streets and hills may be too hazardous for driving. For your safety, MTA has developed snow routes — detours set up on some of the routes to avoid icy streets. The result is safe and reliable service for MTA customers.

How Do I Know If MTA Is Operating On Snow Routes?
Not all routes have snow route detours and not all may be in effect. Some routes continue longer on snow routes than others.

MTA alerts the local news media that snow routes are in effect and posts snow route information on its Web site at www.nashvillemta.org and on the electronic signs at Music City Central, which is located at 400 Charlotte Avenue between 4th and 5th Avenues North.

You may also call Customer Care at (615) 862-5950 or TTY (615) 880-3286 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sundays.

Timely Tip: MTA Customer Care phone lines get very busy. To avoid the call rush, obtain the information on your route in advance.
